As I sit at my desk and type I can hear the children at Mann having recess. It’s so uplifting. I love it.

I know Teddy often feels stuck in the middle. I wish he knew how special he is and how he totally shines and stands out to every single person
Who knows him. He is a strong and awesome personality and being cute doesn’t hurt. Rock on Teds.

Three years ago today at this exact time I was sitting outside the pool on Lowell thinking I wasn’t in labor… And then MJ realized I was and off to the hospital I went and then my little loves arrived. I can’t believe they are three. “I not a BABY!” I am reminded all the time.
They are so full of life and high spirits and creativity and so smart and fabulous in every way. They are the perfect daughters. I love them so much. I love the sense of humor in each, I love Scottie’s performances, Nelly’s ease, their kisses, the kindnesses, the love of lollipops and lipsticks, the determination and perseverance, the generosity and forgiveness, their ability and so many things.
Saturday we had their Cinderella-Mermaid-Horse-Bunny party in the backyard which they loved. They were such great hostesses and make cupcakes for their friends and were excited to give out goodie bags with toy ponies, stickers, tiaras, cowboy hats and lollipops. Scottie was looking forward to have real horses live in our back yard and Nelly to having a live mermaid but they were totally fine when it was just a visiting pony, three bunnies, chicks and ducks. Their friends were all so nice and came and played and brought then such generous gifts.
The girls listed for me what was going to happen the day of the party “First pet bunny, then ride pony, then facepaint, then eat cupcakes.”
Today they came into my room for gifts when they woke up and got princess goggles, hello kitty tennis rackets and pink scooters (in addition to the Cinderella and mermaid costumes and accessories and dolls and toy make up we have them Saturday).
I hope they Are having a happy birthday.

Charlie graduated from kindergarten today. It was so sweet. His teachers love the class so much that it just warms my heart and made me cry. And they were so sweet and have me flowers for being an “honorary” room parent (I think because I help cut paper and photocopy for them I love those teachers. I couldn’t have asked for better teaches. Ms. Whitney is so incredible and loving and inspiring. And so of Charlie.
Charlie also had a ballet recital.
Charlie is an awesome kid. I mean all kids are awesome but Charlie is beyond awesome. He’s only gone to a couple ballet classes, starting in April and was totally focused and peaceful during the show. They did some exercises and then did a dance of the fairy doll bases on Coppelia. My heart was overflowing watching him because he was thoughtful about it and because he was so confident. Later in the evening when I asked if he wanted to do more ballet, he said “It’s better when you have more boys” and recounted the story: “A first grade boy saw me and Anton going and he asked Anton where we were going and Anton said ‘ballet’ and he started laughing ‘You are girls! You are girls!’ And then we saw him another day and he forgot us and said to Anton again ‘Where Te you guys going?’ and Anton was about to tell him but I said ‘Let me get this,’ and I told the first grader we wee just having a play date”
So I asked Charlie how this made him feel and he said “sad.”
And then we talked about how that first grader wasn’t nice and didn’t really understand how people can do all sorts of things.
Anyway, how great is Charlie?!
Also got an excellent report card. I’m so proud of him and so happy for him.
After the recital we went out to dinner and I took him to buy celebratory books at Politics and Prose. He paid with a gift card I have him and completes the whole transaction on his own. At the end he said “This is my first receipt. What does a receipt do?”
