Had so much fun helping at the first great Thanksgiving Feast and driving out to the barn with the kids to ride. We sang in the car. I was so happy about 1. Teddy’s teacher, the amazing Darrell, telling me that Teddy was a great mentor and leader today 2. Teddy singing all of Let It Go (I had no idea he knew all the lyrics 3. Teddy beaming with pride as he rode with the big kids and actually put in more effort and did better than them. He’s a natural 4. Having dinner with all Bermans at Peking Inn Gourmet 5. Asking the kids where Peking Duck is from and them telling me the correct answer

Lessons I hope I live by and I hope my children will learn to live by (oddly adapted from some blog post on Julia Child, who actually remind me of my Grandmother Downey…

Work diligently to do things the right way. The rewards of honestly and fully putting your mind to something are unparalleled.

Having a partner that encourages you—and that you encourage—is one of life’s greatest blessings. Appreciate it fully.

Don’t make excuses. Do things to your best ability, and when something doesn’t turn out as planned, make the best of it, keep on moving forward, and most of all, learn from it.

Good friends are one of the greatest joys in life. Treasure them.

It’s snowing out and I just got to share the thrill of a snowfall with the girls who are home this morning. I loooove snow (I love most weather but really snow). Now we are sitting together coloring-they in Hello Kitty and princess books and me in Gourmandises Enchantees I bought in Paris by the illustrator Carolina Spielman. Such a lovely day
