So much to say about today…
After a cute ballet class where the girls danced as “little pigs” in pink dresses for the little pigs ballet unit, and after radiation, I picked up Teddy early from
School and drove T, S, N, Diana and Apple to whitetail so I could teach the littles to ski. They were all so excited. Teddy wore his helmet and goggles in the car.

As suspected Nelly was a natural, put the skies on and just went. I knew she would do exactly that. There were onlookers cheering her on. She kept saying “again, again,” and Maury, the instructor who worked with us said she’d get a gold medal. Yay Nelly!

Scotts did a great job, put her skis on, went up the magic carpet and skied down the hill. She chatted and chatted while skiing and after 30 good minutes holding my hand to go and sometimes going on her own she headed in.

Teddy was skiing on the edges of his skis and wanted me to me right with him and hold his hand. So to get him to go on his own I pretended to chase him-which he loves- and that made him take off. He did a good two hours skiing and was so good for a little guy.

I find chasing will get littles to cooperate and have fun. Also bribing them with M&Ms- it was so cold I would just put them right in their mouths.

Then I did one run myself before heading home. I loved it. I love skiing. I wish I has done more in my life. I always assumed I wasn’t good at it and therefor was embarrassed or afraid but I should have just made a point to do more earlier so I could have spent my younger years skiing. Making up for it now. My goal is to have my children try as many things as possible and become capable at them so that they can have fun, gain confidence that will serve them in all aspects of their lives, and figure out what they really enjoy doing in life. I want them
To feel comfortable doing all sorts of different activities, comfortable doing things that are hard and comfortable with their physical and mental abilities.

Nelly is so in love with mermaids. It reminds me of when I was 3 and 4 and really loves these little mermaid dolls-they came in a set with a mommy who had long flowey hair and a baby who had a little bonnet. There were all different colors and my aunts Loretta, Bridget and Louise and Mama would buy them for me. Oh how I adored those mermaids (and those aunts and grandmother).

I love seeing all four kids in the bath together. Tonight Charlie and Teddy played with Lego in the tub while
Scottie and Nelly played “big sister and mommy.”

Today I dropped Charlie off at a basketball clinic, saw a bunch of other mommy friends including Courtney and Lely which made my day, went running, went to my first day of radiation then came home to play with the littles, do bedtime, per my newly
Washed dog and watch house of cards with MJ. Generally a good day. Excited to take girls to ballet tomorrow then take them and Teddy skiing in the afternoon xoxo

Last night as I was putting Charlie to bed and snuggling him he told me that when He grows up he either wants to be a policeman or ” the kind of doctor that takes babies out of the mommies and tells them if it’s a boy or girl.” What a good guy.

We sang and danced the hokie pokie while getting ready for bed tonight. Teddy and the girls were so excited. Scottie in particular loves that song and dance.

Teddy was also telling the girls as they went to bed all the things that they will get to do when they turn 3: “You won’t have to say goo goo ga ga, you can go to Rainbow class, you can go to soccer camp, you can ski.”

Charlie skied a double black diamond today. One proud Mama polar bear. I can’t wait to take Teddy on Tuesday. And Scottie and Nelly. I told them tonight I would take them and Nelly said “Go in a tunnel, come out tunnel go down hill.” How does a 2 year old
Know that? I love that we can all have so much fun skiing together. It makes me soooo happy because I love it and they love it.

Mitzi and Grandpa so sweetly took us to Disney on Ice. Despite monetary disappointment at not skiing with the princesses, everyone was beyond thrilled.

I can’t get enough of kids and facepaint. It is just so sweet and so cute how they love it and really think it transforms them.
