Just left Benihana where we had dinner with Charlie’s friend Truman. It was fun and we will be going back. Again and again.

Today was so nice-leading a horse into the ring to ride with one hand and holding Charlies hand in the other then riding with my little companion sitting outside the ring while a baby bunny came hopping over near him.
Hmm…outlet shopping with 4 kids at lunchtime in the rain. Good decision or bad?
We are at Deirdre’s beach house with Bridget and Maggie. All four are in heaven with their cousins and the beach. I’m so thrilled that they love the beach. All tan right up to the water and spent hours jumping in the surf with Maggie, Bridget, Avery, Michael and Lucian. All the cousins were so sweet with one another and played so nicely- it’s so funny how they just love one another.
And there was nothing more lovely than playing in the ocean with all four of my little guppies. Pure delight.
I really want to teach the children words and break them down so they can really understand the meaning…like almost feel what the words mean the way I feel words and sentence construction. Precision in language is so important and can be so fulfilling- I can’t wait for them to experience the joy of using the exact right word or a beautiful turn of phrase- or maybe they already are.
I love making gifts and writing letters for teachers for holidays and the end of the year. I want them to know we are so grateful for all they do for the children. This year was especially magical- Charlie and teddy has amazing classes with incredible teachers, friends and lessons (TK for teddy and TK for Charlie).
We for gift cards for the teachers, Charlie picked out candy to go with them, flowers for the front office and toys for Ms D’Cruz because she is taking both her children on a flight to India and needs activities (scotch tape and post its in addition to coloring books and other stuff. Kids love tape and when else do they get total access to their own roll?).
I wrote long letters telling the teachers how grateful we are. Charlie wrote a particularly sweet note to Ms Glen telling her “I love you and am so sad to leave NCRC. This is my saddest leaving. I want to stay but I have to go. I will miss you and will come back next year to visit.” He was so thoughtful
About what he said and insisted on making her a card rather than just writing in a store bought one.
Teddy wrote his name and drew picture of bees of each of his beehive teachers. He was so happy to do them and drew really cute little bees.
I can’t believe tomorrow is the last day. I can’t stop crying. It is so bittersweet.
With the girls their is a lot of talk of ownership: my water, my grape, my princess, my baby, my milk, my mommy, my pink. Good to know you can pen colors
Nell “Pink*, pink. A pink house.”
ALB “A pink house?”
Scottie “Yes yes a pink house!!”
*pronounced peek
Charlie’s class “graduation” yesterday was so cute. I cried presenting Ms O Connell with her retirement gift. They sang Three Little Birds and recited their favorite memories. It was so cool to see them speak in front of everyone. I love the teachers, class and their families. Charlie has so much fun every day. It is in redouble to watch his love of going to school and being with his friend and learning. He was so eager to show is the silk worms they raised in the class.
