This afternoon in Macomb Park Charlie, Teddy, Oliver, Sam, and Will were playing in the bushes on the hill where a group of second grade-ish boys were playing “fort”. The older boys were being sort of rough and stomping on plants and breaking sticks and throwing things. All of a sudden Charlie yells out at the top of his lungs
“Stop!! Everyone in this forest listen to me!”
As he is saying this the other boys all stand behind him like a gang. He continues
“You have to stop! You are ruining nature!!! You are not being nice to the earth!”
Will adds “AND you aren’t being nice to us!”
All the others stand there agreeing with this statement saying “Be nice!!” like an adorable Greenpeace task force.
AMAZING.
It’s incredible what the teachers have taught them this week during earth week lessons.
And I am so impressed by Charlie not being afraid of bigger and older kids and being so passionate and wiling to defend what he knows is right. I am speechless in my happiness seeing what an incredible person he is. Fearless. Outspoken. And a defender of good. He is a dream corn true.
