I cannot go anywhere without people telling me how beautiful the children are. I’m so flattered and so happy that the children prompt this big I hope they grow up understanding that they are just as beautiful on the inside and that this is so important. There is nothing better than feeling like you are acting beautifully.
Charlie and Teddy got in lots of trouble this afternoon for drawing with permanent marker all over their room and the stairwell. I told them they wouldn’t get presents tonight. Charlie said “I don’t want to but I can’t stop thinking about drawing on the walls in my head. I just want to do it in my head.” So I said to him “Sometimes bad ideas come into your head and you will want to do them but it is better not to do them. When you have these bad ideas stop and think and remember that it is not a good idea and that you won’t like the consequences. Ito call for me and I can help you not do these things. If you have an idea to draw on the walls again for instance remember that even though the bad idea-like drawing on the wall- seems like it will be fun, it will only be fun for a few minutes and the trouble you get in for doing it will be longer and not worth those few minutes of fun.” I hope this lesson works. I hate when they have to get in trouble no really wanted to give them presents tonight.
I told Charlie that tomorrow he would make gifts for his siblings and some other people. He said “what are you going to make me?” And I thought, I have presents for them but did I make him anything? I did make them a photo book of picture but will he think that counts since it doesn’t look made by hand? And does it need to be made by hand to count? What else could I make him? I made the pennants in his room, and photo books, and little animal tableaux and food but what else?
Scottie and Nell went to the Blue igloo holiday party. Scottie didn’t like Luis dressed as Santa and kept saying “No no no.” They both liked decorating frames with paint pens, eating bagels and jumping in the moon bounce. This afternoon they went to a new crafts place up the street with Dayani and came home carrying little cupcakes they had made using styrofoam and sequins. Nothing could be cuter than them carrying the crafts.
Scottie continues to want to wear the Cinderella dress and shoes constantly. She tries to take one shoe and nelly tried to take her bunny in the bath with them tonight. Nell will sometimes wear the Tinkerbell costume, but is more interested in bracelets.
