I am amazed by Charlie’s ability to focus on sports every day from when he wakes up til when he goes to sleep. Yesterday we went to a park and he just kept shooting baskets over and over again and actually made about 6. It was remarkable. I’m so impressed by his drive and determination as enjoyment.

I miss the boys when they are at camp. They both do such a good job of happily going into new situations where they don’t know anyone. I’m
So proud of them.

Charlie : “I didn’t bring any sports tools with me to camp. I need some like my lacrosse stick.”
Wrong word but a great understanding of language.

The Wall Street Journal just called and asked for Scottie Berman.

When I told Charlie and Teddy that they have a new cousin they both smiled and were clearly happy. When I showed them the pictures, Charlie oohed and ahhhed and said “He is sooo cute. Really cute.” Teddy said “that’s not Barclay.”

On the way to camp this morning Charlie saw a view across the city. “I can see all the way to other cities. I can see far because I eat a lot of carrots.” then he turned toward the cathedral and said “I can see god.” so I asked “what does he look like?” and Charlie said “He has a beard and is bald. And is very short. And has weird whiskers.”

This week each day after I picked Teddy up from camp we would walk around the Bishops Garden while we waited to get Charlie. We smelled flowers and watches bees collect pollen and talked alot about them making honey and us eating honey. Teddy carried his lunch box on these walks. I love walking and smelling flowers with him. He takes big sniffs. Today he said when I got him “I want to sniff flowers in the garden, drink
Juice then get Charlie. “

I spend a lot of time reading library books about the NFL and NHL. I’m
Glad to learn a little to participate in the boys enthusiasm for sports but overall they are badly written and really boring. They are also sooo long and for a much older audience but the boys, especially Charlie wont let me
Skip one caption of sentence. Also the books are so old they always tall
About Art Monk. I think
The boys need some more current players to talk about.
I think Teddy is actually relieved when we pull out a Winnie the Pooh story

This morning Charlie walked into my room and said he had a bad dream
About animal killers (maybe from
Watching Madagascar?). Then he said “there are animal killers in real life. They kill pandas and try to take
Their space and in Norway they kill whales-orcas- and try to take there space. We are supposed to help these animals. At the zoo they train animals to put them back in the woods.”

I’m so proud of him for learning so much and thinking such good thoughts (minus the scary dream of course).

Yesterday was the first day of camp for both boys and the first time Teddy was dropped off anywhere. The day before I took Teddy up to the playground at his camp to play with Alice who would also be going there because I wanted him to be comfortable and have a familiar face. When I dropped him
Off the next day he grabbed my hand to walk inside but I said I wouldn’t e staying just him so he waved and happily walked in.

Then I dropped Charlie off at tennis camp where it was 4 year olds to 12 year olds. I knew he would do so well but was still so worried leaving my little boy at such a big camp.

When I picked up Teddy he was grinning from ear to ear, so happy to have spent the day playing with other kids. When I for Charlie he was siding with a new group of kids and then waved to be happily. Such success.
