Teddy had been calling the pacifiers “firepass”. He is obsessed with fire trucks, stations, chiefs.

Charlie: “I want a pet a gerbil. Daddy had a pet gerbil.”
For the past couple nights when the night nurse gets here MJ, Huck and I go out on a little walk around the neighborhood. It is one of my favorite parts of the day.
Our neighbor Cherie who is wonderful and has taken Huck out every morning since I broke my foot says she might want to take Huck on a trip. Lucky dog.
Huck threw up last night. And as usual she came right over to my side of the bed and threw up on the floor next to me. I guess she thinks I can help her, or maybe that I won’t mind stepping out of bed into dog vomit. Either way she’s still cute.
I still have to wear the cast but at least I can walk around a few blocks now. Charlie and I walked to Sarah’s market the other day to buy ingredients to make Carol a birthday cake and last night I walked a couple blocks with MJ and Huck. And yesterday I walked with Charlie up to Montrose. I was so happy to be able to go back to the park. I hadn’t been able to walk there in months and I missed it. We had to check to see if the Park Service removed a broken pipe. He saw some workers building a path and said “When I grow up I want to work in Montrose Park and help people,”–such a wonderful thought to have. Charlie also found some sticks that he planned to give to workmen in the neighborhood to “help them”. As we walked home he saw some and said to one “Do you need this stick?” Unfortunately the man didn’t speak English and didn’t appear to need the stick. It is so pleasant walking around with Charlie. He is a great companion.
Last week and the week before Charlie was a little fragile because of the babies I think. This week he is doing much better (I also spend a lot of one on one time with him) but Teddy is very weepy and fussy. Poor little guy–new sisters and he is about to turn two. I try to hug and kiss him as much as I can–I hope it helps. And I got them a bunch of new books from the library since the main thing I can do with them is read to them in my lap.
When I talk to Nell she acts like she is really listening. She looks at everything all the time and seems super curious. Scottie is a little sleepier. And Scottie will happily hang out in her bassinet but Nell wants to be held more. Their favorite things seems to be lying on my chest right next to each other. Also my favorite thing.
