Hannah and Milly are here for the weekend. Charlie and Teddy are beyond thrilled.
Charlie said, “Where are the bad guys?” And I said replied “In jail.” And he said “Your dad puts them there and hits the bad guys with a sword to get them away.” And I said “I don’t think he hits them with anything.” And he said, “No, he does. He hits them with a sword.”
Yesterday I put down my crutches for about two minutes and walked from the table to the cabinet to put something away. Charlie’s eyes were huge watching me and he said “Mommy, you walked on two legs! I am so impressed!” Charlie, I am impressed with your vocabulary.
Teddy and Charlie has a wonderful week with Blue Igloo graduation and more importantly the visit from Laurance, Paul, and baby Clemie. Charlie kept saying that “the baby wants to see me,” and “she want to play with me,” and he would give her kisses–gently for the most part. They had fun in Charlottesville and were so good at a vineyard–Teddy ran around like he was superman with a napkin tied on as a cape and Charlie used the vineyard map to walk around investigating the grounds.
Yesterday, Charlie told me “That’s a big tummy.”
Charlie’s school had their annual Pajama Picnic yesterday evening, where all the kids wear their pjs to school, sing a song with their class, and have a picnic with pizza. Charlie was so excited for it and for days before was singing the songs he had been practicing at school and yesterday asked throughout the day if it was time to go yet.
Paul, Laurance, and Baby Clemie have come form London to visit. Charlie seems to remember Paul from his trip to London and Ireland and is still a huge fan.
Teddy keeps coming over to me and pointing to my stomach and saying “Babies. Open.”
Charlie heard me telling MJ that his grandparents were in Canada for the weekend. MJ asked what they were doing and I said they were at a theater festival and Charlie piped in “And probably seeing a hockey game.” How did he know there was hockey in Canada????
When a neighbor asked Charlie the other day if he was ready for twins, he replied that yes he was ready for the twins and the new parents that will come with them. I don’t know how we got this off course in understanding the concept of babies being born. I guess he just assumes two kids for every two parents so naturally the twins will come with two more parents. If only that were true.
