The other night Charlie came over and put his hands on my tummy and said “What do you think those babies are doing inside?” Then said “Oh, I know, I think they are getting under their blankets, closing their eyes, and going to sleep.”

T has so many new words and now also says “Upease” for “pick me up please.” I’m glad he is trying to be so polite.

We took T&C to the National Gallery yesterday to see the Canaletto Venice exhibit. They both loved the gondola and C loved the maps and pictures of Venice. Since reading the Olivia in Venice book he has been very interested in the idea of canals replacing streets. T did not like the exhibit or the Gaugin one, but did like the cafeteria.

Puerto Rico was amazing and C&T had so much fun with Meaghan and Siri–taking a bus to Air and Space, playing soccer at GU, having dinner at Johnny Rockets.

Tomorrow MJ and I leave for Puerto Rico. We are only going for about two minutes, but it is the first time I have left C&T for more than one night and gone farther than an hour away from them. I love them so much how am I going to not see them until Sunday?

Charlie has been carrying some Sprinkles cupcake promotional cards around with him for two full days. He loves them.

C&T&H love our new au pair, Siri, who arrived from Norway last week. They are teaching her to play football. Her second day here a tree fell into the Tompkins’ house next door and onto to ours.

So far the have taken her to Julia Child’s kitchen and the Muppets.

I told Charlie MJ and I are going to Puerto Rico this weekend and that he will stay here with Teddy and have fun. He told me “I’m going with you. You are not allowed to leave me EVER.”
