Last Wednesday Charlie got to go to soccer practice. Even though he is a bit young, the coach of the 2 1/2 to 3 year olds let him join the team and get a little tee shirt with a ball on it that is now his favorite and he asks grabs out of the closet) to wear it all the time.
Sometimes for a special treat Charlie gets to watch tennis matches on Youtube.
Charlie loves sports with the most intense passion, especially tennis and basketball. From the minute he wakes up to the minute he goes to bed he wants to talk about “the ball” which means balls, hoops, fields, racquets, lacrosse sticks, and the playing of games. He just got his own tennis racquet a few weeks ago and takes it in the stroller with him, carries it around the house, likes to have it near him when he eats and bathes (just in case), and tonight wanted to take it to bed. He also carries around the basketball and stands at the front door saying “dadung dadung” to indicate that he wants to go outside to the basketball hoop down the street and dunk (which he can’t do, obviously, but likes to hold the ball and just look at the basket). Sometimes carries his lacrosse stick, which he tries to cradle. If we pass a field or tennis court while driving he shrieks with excitement “the ball!!! the ball!!!” so I see it too.
