All day long from Charlie: “ Dada? The ball? Dada? DadungDadung?”
“Na”—horse
“BaaBaa”-Baby, bottle, bed, bath
“Duck”-duck
“boung boung”-spoon, balloon, umbrella
“DadungDadung”-basketball, dribbling, dunking, hoop
Charlie loves babies. He wants to look at pictures of them (was really into a copy of US Weekly or something at the Grocery store with pics of the octuplets in it), talk about them, and hug them. Anyone even slightly younger, he points to and says “baabaa” and then hugs. Since he knows he isn’t supposed to hug really small babies he waves at them. He is also very sweet with baby dolls and likes to rock them in his arms.
Today at a baby boutique, Charlie demanded to be let into the display cribs so he could “pretend” to be a baby himself.
Charlie made me play a very specific game he invented. Here are the rules: I hold the tennis racquet and stand across from him while he hold the lacrosse stick and kicks me the teeny tiny basketball which I have to tap back to him using the racquet. I cannot try to deviate and use the tennis ball, nor may i pick up the ball, nor may he use the stick to touch the ball. Do only as he has directed or else there will be screaming.
